Frequently Asked Questions
Assamaai is a project dedicated to preserving Qur’anic recitation on vinyl. We create carefully curated releases designed for intentional listening and reflection.
Vinyl changes the rhythm of listening. You choose the record, place it carefully, and sit with the recitation. It becomes a deliberate act — not background sound.
We work with acknowledged and trusted reciters. Each release clearly states the reciter and recording details.
No. Any standard turntable that plays 33 RPM records is sufficient. You do not need expensive equipment — clarity and intention matter more than advanced setup.
Yes. All recordings are prepared specifically for vinyl format to ensure clarity, balance, and warmth in recitation.
Each release specifies the exact duration per side. Due to the physical and technical limitations of vinyl as a format, there is a limit to how much audio can be pressed onto one record without affecting sound quality. When too much material is added, volume and clarity must be reduced. For this reason, fitting more than roughly the equivalent of one Juz onto a single vinyl becomes difficult without compromising the recitation. We carefully balance length and audio quality to preserve clarity, warmth, and presence in every release.
